Buy the decision, not the dashboard

The software I trust least in a business is the software that adds another view of the same uncertainty. More charts. More commentary. The same unanswered question underneath.

The software I trust shortens the path from a fact to a commitment someone will sign. New model tools will tempt organizations to pour fluent commentary over work they already struggle to finish. Tools that can act, and not only answer, will tempt them to produce more motion. The useful version still removes a layer. It prepares the decision and then gets out of the way, leaving a person holding something they can accept or refuse.

I would rather own one clear commitment than a stack of analyses nobody is willing to bet on.

The risk is impatience. A shorter path that forces a commitment before the facts are in the room is not an improvement. The point is to refuse the pretense that another view was the decision, not to skip the work of knowing.
